Eagles agree to terms with WR Terrace Marshall

The Philadelphia Eagles have bolstered their wide receiver corps by agreeing to a one-year contract with Terrace Marshall Jr., as reported by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Marshall, a former second-round pick from LSU, brings additional depth and competition to the Eagles' receiving unit.

Collegiate Career and Draft

During his tenure at LSU, Marshall was part of a prolific offense that featured future NFL stars like Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson. In the 2019 season, he recorded 46 receptions for 671 yards and 13 touchdowns under the guidance of offensive coordinator Joe Brady. Marshall's combination of size (6-foot-3, 205 pounds) and speed (4.38-second 40-yard dash) made him an intriguing prospect, leading to his selection by the Carolina Panthers in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

NFL Journey

Marshall's NFL journey has seen him with multiple teams. After his stint with the Panthers, he spent time on the San Francisco 49ers' practice squad before joining the Las Vegas Raiders in October 2024. During his time with the Raiders, Marshall appeared in seven games, recording three receptions for 41 yards.

Eagles' Receiving Corps

The Eagles' receiving group is headlined by A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, both of whom played pivotal roles in the team's recent Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on February 9, 2025. The addition of Marshall introduces further competition for the third receiver spot, alongside Jahan Dotson, Johnny Wilson, and Ainias Smith. Marshall's size and experience could provide the Eagles with a valuable red-zone target and a potential deep-threat option.

Looking Ahead

As the Eagles prepare for the upcoming season, Marshall will have the opportunity to carve out a role within a dynamic offense. His familiarity with high-powered offensive schemes, dating back to his LSU days, may aid in his integration into the Eagles' system. Fans and analysts will be keen to observe how Marshall's presence influences the team's offensive dynamics in the forthcoming season.
