Jeremiah Fears Declares for 2025 NBA Draft After Stellar Season at Oklahoma

Jeremiah Fears has officially declared for the 2025 NBA Draft after an impressive season with the University of Oklahoma. The 6-foot-4 guard shared the news in a social media post on Wednesday, revealing his intention to enter the draft. Fears is projected by many to be a lottery pick, having averaged 17.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists, helping the Sooners secure a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

Reflecting on his time at Oklahoma, Fears expressed his gratitude for the support he received. "This year has been an incredible journey, and I am grateful for all the love and support from the OU fan base," he said. "I also want to thank Coach (Porter) Moser and the entire coaching staff for believing in me and giving me the chance to showcase my talents at the University of Oklahoma."

Trae Young, another high-profile former Oklahoma freshman, has stayed in touch with Fears. Young, who was selected as the No. 5 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft and is an All-Star with the Atlanta Hawks, praised Fears’ potential. "Jeremiah is going to be a really good player," Young said in January. "He’s one of the highest recruits OU’s had in a while, and I’ve been keeping up with him."

Fears had several standout performances throughout the season, including a 26-point game against Arizona, a game-winning four-point play to lift Oklahoma over Michigan in the Jumpman Invitational, and a strong 22-point effort in a tough loss to Florida. He also posted 29 points in a win over Georgia in the SEC Tournament and added 20 points in a competitive NCAA Tournament loss to Connecticut.
