While he was often mentioned alongside Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders early in the draft conversation, Ward separated himself as the clear top quarterback in the eyes of many NFL teams as the season progressed.

The Titans' quarterback struggles over the past three seasons have been well documented, with the team posting a 16-35 record and cycling through five different starting QBs during that span. 2023 second-round pick Will Levis was one of them, but Ward’s arrival signals a clear reset at the position under new general manager Mike Borgonzi, who took over earlier this year after the firing of Ran Carthon.

Head coach Brian Callahan brings valuable experience to this transition. As the former offensive coordinator of the Cincinnati Bengals, Callahan played a key role in developing 2020 No. 1 pick Joe Burrow into one of the NFL’s elite quarterbacks. The Titans hope Ward can follow a similar trajectory, bringing stability and star power back to the quarterback position in Tennessee.
